Assistant Defence Minister Andrew Hastie says it’s a “very sound development” that 30 nations came together and “named and shamed” China for cyber attacks on Microsoft.
This comes after Western world allies including Australia, the United States and Japan joined forces to directly blame the communist superpower for a major cyber attack on Microsoft software. The attack exploited weaknesses in Microsoft Exchange software which impacted thousands of computers and networks across the world.
“I think it’s a very sound development that we’ve named and shamed China behind these hacks – because it’s got to stop,” Mr Hastie told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “We have boundaries in our normal everyday relationships and so too have boundaries on the international stage. “And this is 30 nations saying to China ‘enough is enough – no more’.”

The Australian government, along with allies, has accused China of a major cyber attack on Microsoft software. It is alleged Chinese state-sponsored hackers compromised 400,000 servers across the world, including in Australia.
The Australian’s Chris Griffith told Sky News these attacks are becoming more prevalent and critical around the world. “It’s hard to pinpoint exactly if the state (China) is explicitly involved in it, or it is encouraging it, or if it is tacitly approving it,” he said. “In the last year we have seen the ramping up of cyber activity to a level we haven’t seen before. “It’s getting to a critical stage.”

Following the Second World War, there were a number of war crimes trials that aimed to bring the perpetrators of the conflict and also the Holocaust to justice.
The most high profile focussed at Nuremberg, and the Nuremberg Trials featured many of Adolf Hitler’s inner circle and his highest ranking Nazis. One of these men placed on trial was Ernst Kaltenbrunner, the Chief of the Reich Security Main Office or the RSHA.
Kaltenbrunner has gone down in History as one of the worst war criminals of World War 2, and it was his duty to oversee the Gestapo, SD and Kripo. He was a man who helped to contribute to the deportations and deaths inside the concentration camps, and he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands. He was close with Heinrich Himmler, and Kaltenbrunner was noted for his tall stature and his scarred face, and some even suggest that Himmler was terrified of Kaltenbrunner and his temper.
Following the Second World War, Ernst Kaltenbrunner was arrested on top of a mountain by US Army soldiers after he attempted to flee, and was given away when his mistress ran up to him as he was apprehended. He was placed on trial at Nuremberg despite suffering from two subarachnoid haemorrhages, and for his crimes he was sentenced to death.

Felix Henry Sater /ˈseɪtər/ (born Felix Mikhailovich Sheferovsky;[4][5] Russian: Фе́ликс Миха́йлович Шеферовский; March 2, 1966) is a Russian-American mobster, convicted felon,[6] real estate developer and former managing director of Bayrock Group LLC,[7] a real estate conglomerate based out of New York City. Sater left Bayrock Group LLC in 2008 and has not been involved with the company for over a decade. He has subsequently been an advisor to corporations such as The Trump Organization,[8] and the Mirax Group.
In 1998, Sater pleaded guilty to his involvement in a $40 million stock fraud scheme orchestrated by the Russian Mafia,[9][10] and became an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and federal prosecutors, assisting with organized crime investigations. In 2017, Sater agreed to cooperate with investigators into international money laundering schemes.[11]
During Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Sater worked with Michael Cohen, former attorney for The Trump Organization, to broker a deal to build a Trump Tower Moscow, asserting to Cohen that he could boost Trump’s election prospects through his Russian contacts.[12] On June 21, 2019, Sater was issued a subpoena by the House Intelligence Committee after he refused a request to testify voluntarily.[13][14] On July 9, 2019, Sater appeared before the House Intelligence Committee, but repeatedly withheld testimony and documents concerning the details of a false joint defense agreement and thus remains under subpoena.[15][16]
Judge I. Leo Glasser confirmed that Sater helped the U.S. government track down Osama bin Laden as he provided the telephone number of Osama bin Laden.

Vincent Bugliosi writes in Reclaiming History, Endnote pp. 258–259, In order for the entrance wound photograph to be taken, the autopsy surgeons lifted the president’s right shoulder from the autopsy table, and rolled him onto his left shoulder.
Then, per his own testimony, Dr. Boswell gathered together these loose strands of scalp between his thumb and index finger and drew them forward across the gaping hole in the right front of the skull, thereby making the entrance wound on the back of the president’s head clearly visible to the photographer’s camera (ARRB Transcript of Proceedings, Deposition of Dr. J. Thornton Boswell, February 26, 1996, pp.97, 149–150, 164). Though the act of pulling the loose scalp forward across the top right of the head made the entrance wound visible, it also briefly covered the large exit defect on the right front side of the president’s head.

During the Second World War and as Hitler rose power within Germany, there were a group of high ranking Nazis who helped brainwash the population and also help Hitler instigate a reign of terror.
Following World War 2, the Nuremberg Trials took place in which the remaining high ranking members of the Nazi Party were placed in front of a trial and judged for their crimes such as waging war and the Holocaust. One of these men was Julius Streicher, a horrifically anti-semitic man who helped to spread hatred across Hitler’s Third Reich.
Julius Streicher was by Hitler side since the very start. He was present when Hitler tried to seize control of Munich during the Beer Hall Putsch, and he was a close friend to the Fuhrer of Germany. He later became the Gauleiter of Franconia. Streicher is most well known today for being the founder of Der Sturmer, a virulently anti-semitic newspaper that spread propaganda against those in Germany that were persecuted. Der Sturmer contained shocking images and accusations.
Although Streicher was not a member of the army or the military, after the Second World War he was placed on trial for his crimes involving the Holocaust. It was found that he was guilty of spreading hate and contributing towards the persecution, and for this he was sentenced to death.

One of the main witnesses in Julian Assange’s extradition case has admitted he made false claims against Assange in exchange for immunity from prosecution, a bombshell revelation that could have a major impact on the WikiLeaks founder’s fate.
Assange faces up to 175 years in prison if brought to the U.S., where he was indicted for violations of the Espionage Act related to the publication of classified documents exposing U.S. war crimes. According to a new article in the Icelandic newspaper Stundin, the convicted hacker Sigurdur “Siggi” Thordarson falsely claimed he was a prominent WikiLeaks representative instructed by Assange to carry out hacking attacks, but he was in fact only tangentially involved with the organization.
The article suggests the U.S. Justice Department collaborated with Thordarson to generate the indictment for Assange that was submitted to the British courts. “This is just the latest revelation to demonstrate why the U.S. case should be dropped,” says Jennifer Robinson, a human rights attorney who has been advising Assange and WikiLeaks since 2010.

The decision not to extradite Julian Assange to the US is unlikely to be the end of his struggle. For the past 10 years, a team of reporters has followed Assange and the WikiLeaks network.

Since then, Wikileaks has come under constant pressure from the US government. Throughout the years, the reporters have kept filming, talking to Julian Assange’s father, who regularly visits him in London’s Belmarsh prison, as well as to his lawyers. Today, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks are at a turning point in their history.
To his detractors, Assange is a spy and a traitor, and deserves his fate. His supporters say the US extradition request is a serious and unprecedented attack on the freedom of information, protected by the US constitution. After World War I, relationships between French occupation troops and German women were banned. But they happened anyway, and liaisons involving black soldiers produced a number of mixed-race children.
Many were later persecuted by the Nazis. Around 100,000 French troops were sent to occupy Germany’s Rhineland region in 1920. About 20,000 of these soldiers came from the French colonies of Tunisia, Morocco, French Indochina, and Senegal.
The African troops became targets of a harassment campaign called “Die Schwarze Schmach,” or “The Black Disgrace.” German political parties, the media, and many organizations tried to discredit French occupation policies by falsely claiming that black French soldiers were systematically raping German women and children.
The presence of black, North African, and Asian troops in Germany was depicted as a threat to the “German race” and the future of European civilization. Between 1919 and 1928, several hundred mixed-race children were born in Germany’s Rhineland region — the product of liaisons between local women and French occupation troops.
These children, their mothers, and extended families were socially ostracized from the very beginning. In the 1930s, these children became victims of racist Nazi policies. In 1937, Adolf Hitler secretly ordered hundreds of them to be forcibly sterilized.
A special unit of the Gestapo was set up to carry out this task. This documentary, directed by Dominik Wessely, tells the story of a forgotten crime. It also explains how propaganda and toxic “fake news” reports can create an environment in which horrific crimes can be committed.

On orders from Heinrich Himmler, the Nazis abducted children from Poland for forced Germanization. Hermann Lüdeking, Jozef Sowa and Alodia Witaszek have never met, but they shared the same fate.
Tears still come to Jozef Sowa’s eyes when he talks about his life. His parents were murdered by Wehrmacht soldiers in Poland in 1943, and he and his four siblings were taken to Germany. Four of them managed to return to Poland. But his younger sister Janina was given up for adoption – as a supposedly German child. She still lives in Germany today.
This kidnapping was planned. In 1941, Himmler, who headed the Nazi SS, gave the order to “gather young children who are especially racially suitable from Polish families and for us to raise them in special modestly-sized kindergartens and children’s homes.” Professor Isabel Heinemann explains, “By so doing, he aimed to build up the German race.” For years, the historian has been researching the fates of the estimated 50 thousand children in Europe who were snatched.
The largest group comes from Poland. Without their biological parents to protect them, the children were given to German families by the “SS Race and Resettlement Main Office.” Their names and dates of birth were changed to obscure their true identity. After the war ended, those whose origins could be traced returned to their homelands. But their native countries had often become foreign to them and being singled out as a German “Hitler child” made reintegration difficult.
Those responsible for the kidnapping were never brought to justice.

Meduza and Open Media report: “Russia’s Federal Security Service reportedly believes foreign intelligence agencies are plotting a special operation to sneak imprisoned journalist Ivan Safronov out of the country. Citing but not naming one of Safronov’s friends, Open Media says federal investigator Alexander Chaban raised this concern during a recent closed hearing at Moscow’s City Court, where a judge ultimately decided to extend Safronov’s pretrial detention.
Ivan Pavlov, the head of the human rights group “Team 29,” confirmed to Interfax that Chaban warned in court that Safronova would supposedly flee to a diplomatic mission or consulate and leave Russia with the help of foreign spies, if released from pretrial detention. “[Chaban’s] theory that Ivan Safronov would flee the country, despite guarantees from hundreds of his colleagues, friends, and public figures, is complete nonsense,” Pavlov complained.
Following this week’s ruling, Safronov will remain in remand prison until October 7, 2021, pending developments in his case.”

Gorbachev was the most important Western agent employed by the oper- ational unit for the “protection of the economy,” known as Department XVIII, and provided the lion’s share of all scientific and technical mate- rial collected there. The reason for this bureaucratic anomaly was that the precursor department (Department III – renamed and reorganized in 1964) for protecting the economy had been responsible for company espionage in the West as well as economic security. recruited during a time of bureaucratic flux before foreign intelligence and domestic security/counterintelligence merged under the common roof of the Ministry for State Security.
Of course, most scientific and technical espionage was the responsibility of another division of the Stasi, the HV A’s Sector for Science and Tech- nology. This was the group from which Werner Stiller defected in 1979, and also the group to which all Gorbachev’s documents were referred for evaluation.
Gorbachev provided the Stasi with blueprints, plans, scientific docu- ments, and some prototypes from two leading West German firms. Between 1957 and 1959 he worked at Telefunken as head of the Depart- ment for Small Transmitters and passed on material related to radios and transmitters. After that, he headed up the Department of Automation at AEG until his retirement in 1977. He had the key to the company archive both times.
The MfS had a systematic method for collection and evaluation based on the state’s economic plan. Industrial representatives could give the MfS a wish list of plans or hardware needed, and it would attempt to acquire the material. The evaluation department played the important role of intermediary between industry and agent. Not only did it funnel the industry wish lists to its agents, keeping in mind the country’s economic needs and each agent’s capabilities, but it also analyzed each item collected by the agents, “neutralized” them (in MfS lingo) so that the source would not be known, and passed the information back to industry or to research institutes. Agents could also bring unsolicited material if they thought it would be of interest, but this material was separated from the requested material.
Gorbachev delivered an unusually copious amount of material. The height of his cooperation seems to have been from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. In 1960, the year before the Wall was built, a case officer reported that Gorbachev delivered 505 documents. This seems to have been his record; in most years, unless meetings ceased for operational reasons, he averaged about 200. In 1968 he contributed 202 of the 289 documents acquired by Department XVIII. As he approached retirement in 1977, Gorbachev’s deliveries dropped significantly. In the 1980s he was still working for the MfS, but instead of passing on secret documents, he was intercepting Western intelligence’s radio messages and finding out their broadcast frequencies.21

Sky News host Sharri Markson says exclusive footage she revealed which proves live bats were kept at the Wuhan Institute of Virology shows much of what the world has been told about the origin of the pandemic was “Chinese disinformation”.
Ms Markson told Fox News in the interview that Beijing’s disinformation was then “propagated” by many who were “compromised”. “It shows that much of what we’ve been told about the origin of the pandemic from the very beginning was Chinese disinformation which was then propagated by many people who had been working in conjunction with the Wuhan Institute of Virology who are compromised, who had extreme conflicts of interest,” she said.
Ms Markson scorched the WHO team which visited Wuhan earlier this year to investigate the origin of the pandemic. “People like Peter Daszak insisted that it was a conspiracy theory – he used the term in a tweet from December 2020 – that it was a conspiracy theory to say that there were bats in the lab,” she said.
“He’s an official WHO, World Health Organisation, investigator who went into Wuhan to supposedly investigate the origins of the virus earlier this year and it was completely false. “This new footage shows that there were bets being kept in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and it’s something Peter Daszak has had to admit, has had to correct just this month.
“There’s so much that he didn’t and the WHO team didn’t ask when they went into Wuhan.” Ms Markson said the WHO team failed to even ask what happened to a colossal database of coronaviruses at the lab. “They didn’t ask if there were bats at the laboratory, they didn’t ask where the virus database was, this is such a crucial thing, the virus database with some 15,000 or 17,000 bat samples suddenly disappeared from the internet in September 2019 just prior to the outbreak of COVID-19,” she said.
“People like Peter Daszak who went into to supposedly investigate this were riddled with conflicts. “Anthony Fauci, as well, should not be advising the president on the origin of coronavirus given it was his organisation that funnelled money through a subgrant through to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. “He can issue all the denials that he likes. The scientific papers say that they were funded with NIH.”

An official Chinese Academy of Sciences video to mark the launch of the new biosafety level 4 laboratory in May 2017 speaks about the security precautions that are in place if “an accident” occurs and reveals there had been “intense clashes” with the French Government during the construction of the laboratory.
The video shows bats being held in a cage at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, along with vision of a scientist feeding a bat with a worm. The 10 minute video is titled “The construction and research team of Wuhan P4 laboratory of Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences” and features interviews with its leading scientists.
The World Health Organisation report investigating the origin of the pandemic failed to mention that any bats had been kept at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and only its annex referred to animals being housed there. “The animal room in the P4 facility can handle a variety of species, including primate work with SARS-CoV-2,” it states.
A member of the World Health Organisation team investigating the origin of the pandemic in Wuhan, zoologist Peter Daszak said it was a conspiracy to suggest bats were held at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. In one tweet dated December, 2020 he said: “No BATS were sent to Wuhan lab for genetic analysis of viruses collected in the field. That’s now how this science works. We collect bat samples, send them to the lab. We RELEASE bats where we catch them!” In another tweet, dated December 11, 2020, he said: “This is a widely circulated conspiracy theory. This piece describes work I’m the lead on and labs I’ve collaborated with for 15 years. They DO NOT have live or dead bats in them. There is no evidence anywhere that this happened. It’s an error I hope will be corrected.”
This month, Daszak appeared to retract his earlier denials and admitted the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have housed bats but admitted he had not asked them. The Chinese Academy of Sciences video was discovered by researchers investigating the origin of the pandemic who call themselves DRASTIC. Digital archivist “Jesse” found the Chinese Academy of Sciences Video while the group’s co-ordinator, who goes by a pseudonym of “Billy Bostickson” for safety reasons, has long complained evidence bats were housed in the Wuhan laboratories. The video forms part of the investigation for the book “What Really Happened in Wuhan” which is available for pre-order at Amazon and Booktopia. Mr Daszak has not responded to requests for comment.

Abstract ‘Red Mafia’ is the collective term for corrupt public officials in mainland China, mainly from the criminal justice system, who attempt to monopolise the protection business in the criminal underworld by abusing power. In contemporary mainland China, the Red Mafia has developed into an alternative system of governance that can control organised crime groups, enable them to flourish, and protect them where strong government and effective self-protection associations are absent. The author examines organised crime and corruption by analysing the Wen Qiang case, one of the most famous and widely publicised cases in Chongqing’s latest crime crackdown campaign. Drawing on interview data and extensive published materials, this paper offers a tentative definition of ‘Red Mafia’, develops a typology of organised crime, describes the emergence of the Red Mafia in China, explores how gangsters developed relationships with public officials, suggests why organised crime groups chose the Red Mafia as their preferred protection and enforcement mecha nism, examines patterns of services provided, and explores the differences between the Red Mafia and other Mafia groups.

New details have come to light in the scandal over the US National Security Agency’s surveillance of top European politicians. Revelations that emerged in 2013 showed that the US intelligence agency had tapped the phones of several leaders – including Germany’s Angela Merkel. Now, a new multi-national media investigation says a Danish military intelligence unit supported the US wiretapping operation. Danish intelligence reportedly worked with the US National Security Agency from here – to eavesdrop on European politicians. A joint investigation by several European media outlets shows former German chancellor candidate, Peer Steinbrück, was among the espionage targets. A major problem is that the Danish government didn’t inform their German neighbors, though they apparently knew about the eavesdropping as early as 2015. The German government said it only found out about the spying after press inquiries. Spying on Chancellor Angela Merkel and former Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier was revealed by NSA leaker Edward Snowden and a parliamentary inquiry. It did not reveal that a close European ally was involved. The NSA, the Danish intelligence service and the Danish government refused to comment on the latest revelations.

Anthony Fauci has been feted as a “secular saint” during the COVID-19 pandemic however released emails show America’s most senior infectious disease expert said one thing in public and another in private, according to Sky News host James Morrow.
The emails were first secured by BuzzFeed through a Freedom of Information Act request. Buzzfeed published in excess of 3,200 pages of emails from Dr Fauci’s inbox, over the course of January to June 2020. Dr Fauci was informed as early as February 2020 that COVID-19 could have been engineered in a lab in Wuhan and accidentally unleashed upon the world.
“According to the emails, America’s top medical adviser took the advice seriously, despite downplaying the lab leak theory in public, instead insisting COVID-19 likely originated organically from nature,” Mr Morrow said. “Remember how back in May of last year, Dr Fauci said there was ‘no evidence’ the coronavirus could have been made in a lab? “Well it turns out from the very beginning of the pandemic, Dr Fauci’s aides were telling him that actually, it may very well have been engineered.”
Mr Morrow said in the early stages of the pandemic, Dr Fauci turned science “into a religion.” “Anthony Fauci became, of course, a secular saint among the American left who, over the last year and a half, turned science into a religion, and who, as in Australia, became addicted to alarmism, lockdowns, and giving the power of elected officials over to unelected health bureaucrats – a doctrine that I like to call, Fauchism,” he said. He said the released emails indicate that when future generations look back at the COVID-19 pandemic – which has claimed over three million lives and devastated the livelihoods of millions more – Dr Fauci will not be remembered a hero, rather “something far less flattering”.

By some accounts, Russian meddling in the US election system may have originated from the depths of a hot dog cart. It’s a success story, of sorts.
In the early 1990s, an enterprising hot dog vendor in Russia seized upon the entrepreneurial opportunities created by the collapse of the Soviet Union to start his own catering company. He eventually grew his business enough to win lucrative catering contracts with the Russian government. He and his restaurants threw opulent banquets for Kremlin officials, earning him the nickname “Putin’s Cook.” Yevgeny Prigozhin’s company even won a contract in 2011 to deliver school lunches across Moscow, but children wouldn’t eat the food, complaining that it smelled rotten. Bad publicity ensued. Prigozhin’s company responded not by upgrading the food, but by hiring people to flood the internet with postings praising the food and rejecting complaints. Presumably, they found it cheaper to use the internet to write fake reviews than to fund deluxe hot dogs for schoolchildren.

The long-term consequences cannot be known.
- Trust: Should we hand over control of our lives and medical treatment to Dr. Fauci and the agency he heads? Do they have our welfare at heart, or only their own power and a political agenda?

Seduced by Secrets: Inside the Stasi’s Spy-Tech World
For his first two years as a spy, Rehder did not know he was selling secrets to the MfS, believing he was selling them to representatives of the Ministry for Machine Building. Stasi agents had been using a cover story. Cover stories or “false-flag” operations – when intelligence officers tell a potential agent that they come from another country – were often em- ployed when there was a sense that the potential recruit was hostile toward communist countries. It was not until January 1959 that Rehder’s case officers, including Major Pape, apparently revealed to Rehder who they were. The files contain no description of Rehder’s reaction to this news; he simply continued, apparently with great eagerness, to pass on company secrets for money. Perhaps the best clue that the Stasi had him in their pocket had come a few weeks earlier, when Gorbatschow that he had made an imprint of the key to the company archive. “With this key,” he told the officers, “I am in the position to access all company secrets.”

On May 31, policemen in St. Petersburg entered onto a plane not long before departure and captured Andrey Pivovarov, the previous chief head of the philanthropic association Open Russia (Otkrytaya Rossiya). Reports immediately surfaced that Pivovarov had been taken to the Investigative Committee for addressing regarding a criminal case concerning crafted by an “unfortunate association.” The BBC Russian Service later revealed that Pivovarov is dealing with criminal indictments over a Facebook post he purportedly distributed in August 2020. Pivovarov’s confinement came four days after Open Russia declared its disintegration trying to shield its activists and allies from criminal arraignment in front of approaching alterations to Russia’s law on “unwanted associations.”

However, it’s possible that the investigation was actually referring to a Facebook post by district councilman Alexander Korovainy, which Pivovarov shared on August 13, 2020. Speaking about Open Russia activist Yana Antonova’s nomination to the Krasnodar City Duma, Korovainy wrote that her campaign would require at least 200,000 rubles (about $2,725) in funding, and described how to make a donation. Antonova told the Russian BBC that “no one from the Investigative Committee or any other structures” had contacted her in connection with Pivovarov’s arrest.
Andrey Pivovarov was detained four days after Open Russia (Otkrytaya Rossiya) announced its dissolution. On May 27, Pivovarov said that the NGO, which is linked to exiled former oil company executive Mikhail Khodorkovsky, was completely halting its operations, in order to protect its supporters from criminal prosecution. Pivovarov added that the decision to dissolve Open Russia voluntarily was linked to the amendments to the law on “undesirable organizations” that were submitted to the Russian State Duma earlier last month. That said, the Russia-based nonprofit Open Russia isn’t formally designated as “undesirable.” The pressure on its activists apparently stem from the fact that this status was handed down to two other organizations linked to Khodorkovsky, the Open Russian Civic Movement and OR (Otkrytaya Rossia).
Mikhail Khodorkovsky compared Pivovarov’s arrest to the Belarusian authorities forcing the landing of a Ryanair passenger plane in Minsk and subsequently arresting opposition journalist Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend, Russian citizen Sofia Sapega. “Are there still doubts that Putin and Luka [Alexander Lukashenko] are two of a kind?” Khodorkovsky wrote on his Telegram channel on May 31. In turn, Tatyana Usmanova, the former coordinator of Open Russia, called the fact that Pivovarov was arrested for cooperating with an “undesirable organization” after Open Russia was dissolved “complete absurdity and lawlessness.”

An Environmental Investigation Agency investigation in Mozambique revealed a Chinese-led criminal syndicate which for over two decades has been trafficking ivory from Africa to Shuidong, its hometown in southern China. According to this syndicate, it is just one of about 10 to 20 similar groups originating from Shuidong. Their criminal exploits reveal how their small hometown has become, and remains, the world’s largest hub for ivory trafficking: the group claims up to 80 percent of tusks from poached elephants in Africa pass through Shuidong. China has taken significant steps to close its legal domestic ivory market in the past year. This is a positive move by a country with one of the biggest ivory markets and demonstrates leadership and pragmatism. However, there remain serious questions on the lack of enforcement in China, and abroad, against Chinese nationals deeply involved in the illegal ivory trade, who continue to operate with complete impunity.

As commander of MNF-I, Petraeus oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq.
