NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has touted December 1 as the date the unvaccinated will be able to participate without restrictions. It comes as the premier unveiled the state government’s three stage reopening plan on Monday – marked by the 70, 80 and 90 per cent double dose vaccination thresholds. “A current of hatred for the West, for the British legacy and its freedom, is taking the world back to the past – to tribalism and to violence,” he said. “In Canada, we’re seeing right through the destructive danger of this contempt, this hatred for supposedly racist colonial countries.

“But this was all the excuse for activists to gear up their war on the west, on Canada’s British heritage particularly, with a statue of Queen Victoria torn down by a mob, and even beheaded. “Worse, church after church after church is now being burned down, a dozen so far, both Catholic ones and Anglican ones. Even a church built by Vietnamese refugees was torched.”

But they were happy to do so for many years. “That’s one thing, but check out how tightly Premier Andrews now wants to control the media.”

Greg Hunt “is right” to order a review into gain-of-function research in Australia after the “shocking revelations” about CSIRO and Australian universities, according to the IPA’s Evan Mulholland. It comes after it was revealed CSIRO and Australian universities have participated in at least ten joint projects with the Wuhan Institute of virology over the last decade. Sharri Markson also revealed CSIRO researchers have previously undertaken research on live bats with the Wuhan institute. Mr Mulholland said the revelations “raise questions” about the trustworthiness of institutions like CSIRO. “But also, we’ve seen so many of our – particularly our media commentariat – dismiss a lot of the journalism that Sharri has done, but it has been incredible to see what she’s uncovered,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says “it became clear the CSIRO has worked with coronaviruses and with bats” in gain-of-function research conducted with counterparts from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. “Now there are credible allegations that the coronavirus that we’re still living with came from China, and it was potentially made in China and it would appear that at least if that is the case, our government agencies like the CSIRO have at least been involved in these processes,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “There was, at least, some misleading evidence in my view given to the Senate a few weeks ago, it certainly wasn’t fulsome. “When we got answers back from the CSIRO on notice, it became clear that the CSIRO has worked with coronaviruses, has worked with bats, with scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. “I really think the government needs to look hard about whether this sort of research should continue.”
