For both by-products it says: “for research use only” (see screenshot) The “not for human use” has already been removed.

The company Echelon. Inc, which manufactures these nano lipids for Biontech/Pfizer, writes on it’s homepage:
“…these lipids are used in the BioNTech vaccine “BNT162b2″, but are not approved for use on/in humans but for research purposes only.”

In the original it looked like this earlier:
“ALC-0315 is an ionizable lipid which has been used to form lipid nanoparticles for delivery of RNA. ALC-0315 is one of the components in the BNT162b2 vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 in addition to ALC-0159, DSPC, and cholesterol. This product is for research use only and not for human use.”

So the substance that is specifically for research use only is actually in Biontech/Pfizer’s VACCINE BNT162b2.

This can be read in the official EMA document on the Biontech product.
