The European Commission has published the final technical specifications for the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) on 8 July 2025. Every EU citizen will be offered the wallet between Q4 2025 and Q2 2027, but acceptance remains voluntary. 2. Local key storage – private keys stay on device (no cloud).
