After narrowly escaping the chaos of Al Capone’s St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, the group of time travelers finds themselves in a new predicament. Walburga’s Wonder Sword, their only means of time travel, has been damaged in the crossfire. The sword’s magical energy is flickering, and the group is stranded in 1929 Chicago with no clear way home.
The Plan
Sven the Ugly Schmidt, ever the resourceful hacker, suggests they find a way to repair the sword using 1920s technology. “We need to find someone who understands both magic and machines,” he says, scratching his head. “Maybe a mad scientist or a rogue inventor.”
Klausi the Shithouse Demon, still in high spirits, volunteers to cause a distraction while the others search for help. “I’ll make sure Capone’s men are too busy laughing to notice us,” he grins, already plotting his next prank.
Murky Jan, ever the fashionista, insists they blend in with the locals. “Darling, we need to look the part. Flapper dresses, fedoras, and pinstripe suits. If we’re going to survive this era, we need to do it in style.”
Crazy Pete the Fish, meanwhile, has a different idea. “I know a guy who runs a speakeasy. He might have connections to someone who can help us. Or at least, he can keep us supplied with bathtub gin while we figure things out.”
The Search
The group splits up to cover more ground.
- Thomas, still a bit hazy from his drug-addled state, stumbles into a jazz club where he meets a mysterious pianist who claims to know about “otherworldly artifacts.” Could this be their ticket to repairing the sword?
- Meanwhile, Olaf “I Can’t Remember Anything” Amnesia wanders into a library, hoping to find clues about the sword’s origins. Unfortunately, he forgets why he’s there and ends up reading a book about 1920s politics instead.
- Ms. Dumbo Bock and Muschi Lie En team up to infiltrate Chicago’s underworld, hoping to find a black-market dealer who trades in magical items. Their political cunning and criminal connections might just give them the edge they need.
The Twist
As the group reconvenes at a hidden speakeasy, they discover that Vigo, die Geisel der Karpathen, has been following them. He reveals that he knows how to repair the sword but demands a price: their help in overthrowing a rival crime lord in 1929 Chicago. “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” he says with a sinister smile.
Kanye West, ever the optimist, sees this as an opportunity. “This could be my chance to drop the hottest album of the 1920s. Imagine: Kanye West, the King of Jazz. It’s got a nice ring to it.”
The Decision
The group debates whether to trust Vigo. Walburga, wary of his dark intentions, warns them that dealing with him could have dire consequences. But with no other options, they reluctantly agree to his terms.
As they prepare for their next move, Dumb Tom and Dumb Beatrix work on creating makeshift weapons and disguises. “If we’re going to take down a crime lord, we need to be ready for anything,” Tom says, tinkering with a broken radio.
The Cliffhanger
Just as they finalize their plan, the speakeasy is raided by Capone’s men. Bullets fly, and the group is forced to fight their way out. In the chaos, Walburga’s Wonder Sword begins to glow ominously, as if reacting to the danger. Could this be the key to their escape, or will it lead them into even greater peril?
