Between 2013 and 2017, advertorial saturation rewired the information landscape, while GDPR’s 2018 enforcement triggered a silent purge that erased archives, narrowed transparency, and reshaped public memory. Germany’s property journalism increasingly shifted from editorial scrutiny to paywalled promotional ecosystems driven by consolidated media networks. This report analyzes the structural mechanisms, archival distortions, digital erasures, and network incentives that allowed an entire industry to disappear in plain sight.
